Replacing a broken part, filling a hole, form a part..
Plastic in grains to replace a broken part, a handle, ring, base, a nut (enough big), just free your imagination !!
which softened in hot water and form a paste. Brands have names like called "repairall" or "fixeverything" but make a test with those you will
find because the result can be different. ; it is a bit supple and very resistant on significant mass but its surface is not really hard, in spite
of the very good resistance for stretching and compression ; however, this plastic is sensitive to heat.

Epoxy kind (two matters to be mixed).
Can be used for repairing or replacing a broken or missing part.
They hold a rather high temperature (nearly 100 degrees Celsius) and are very resistant (can holda strong strain with a consequent thickness).
Three examples : a burned handle of a pan
which, up to now, did not melt - a
broken part holding the wheel axis of a garage door that has been standing for now 10 years, in spite of a significant weight

I
have also largely coated a broken part holding (the big door)
The choice :
There are of various colors of
them but according to the arrival ! For a good work,
avoid multiple proposals of big DIY shops..
for we are searching quality. The gray and black
are scarce but generally much better for DIY. In white, buy
preferably a brand at the bathroom accessories departementof. In grey
and black, 3M Loctite that contains metal particles (cars
accessories). There are also boat (pots sold with pictures).
Be cautious, all of these paste can
harden very quickly.
The liquid epoxy glue consists of two tubes whose contents are to be mixed (araldie kind).
It can harden fill a space and even dry with an important thickness to form small pieces. She is firm but not harsh, like the horn.
Opportunity to mix with other powder for color.
The glue cyanoacrylate Cyano glue can fill chips of enamel or replace a small piece missing.
It is indeed likely to harden in relatively thick, like a drop of 1 x1, 2 x 1.7 cm. It is hard enough, but not as crystal all the same,
while maintaining transparency. Opportunity to mix with other powder for color. Opportunity to mix with other powders to color.
A credit card Can be folded, cut out, in several thicknesses.
Also cut out a piece of wood or cork so that it fits the need.

- Restoration of walls, wallpapers, leathers, damaged woodworks (holes, blows) .
1 / walls ; Bath-room walls are often covered
with holes pointing out the various accessories which were fixed
there; fill them with plaster or a ready to use white paste ; it
will be more sympathetic that a hole. If you can colour it (see
continuation), it will be still better.
2 / wallpaper : it can be replaced partially if
you have a reserve of the same dyed : in this case, prick a piece
of this paper on the place to be repaired, press it with the hand
and cut rather deeply with a fresh cutter; a round form, oval a
little pointed will be preferred (it is less visible than a square
and cabinetmakers do like that).
Remove your "patch", as well as the piece of paper to be replaced
which was cut out with. Stick the "patch" which must fit very well.
Scratches: stick the torn off "skins" and made final improvements
of color with colouring pencils or nonerasable felt pens (it is
necessary to have a pallet of colors); reproduce the patterns
(caution, the felt is sharper in general); the defect will be faded.
3/ leathers, Jean.. try to restick (neoprene, universal cellulosic. NO CYANO !!)
4 / Objects : Restick what can be done, fill in the slits, re-shape and make the missing parts (see hereafter).
Refashion and smooth (surfacing coat) ;
according to materials : replanning broken or lost parts with pastes to stick, with a woodworking glue mixed with sawdust
(one saws a piece of pine, oak, beech); just a little adhesive, to agglomerate wood (also put adhesive on parts to be restored); this mixture can be made using epoxy adhesive, which
can be coloured while making the mixture (the epoxy adhesive is difficult
to colour afterwards); surfacing coat of carriage-builder in small tubes
(car stores) ; use in fine successive layers, epoxy products sold into cans for car body and boats (content can have some metal particules),
plaster according to the object, or even ruffled packing paper soaked with woodworking glue and well packed, then smoothed with the sufacing coat once dried. One thus needs a little
imagination and the possibilities are numerous.
Finishing the surface : finely sand the coat (coat for walls in tube, cement for car
body, successive coats of paint..)
the torn off "skins" and give a colour; a simple black or blue felt can be sometimes satisfying.
This is valid for other matters.
Punched wood if you inopportunely inserted wood on a few mm by giving it a blow (table.), try to wet it well, then pass the domestic
iron above quite hot by interposing fabrics. Normally, wood reinflates and the hole attenuates well (tested on a table plate in marquetry of
oak). To wet without heating is not effective at all (I tested like that before).
Redone the color Carry out several tests if necessary with : coloured felts pencils (for drawing), very diluted regular paintings.
One can reproduce a false wood color with a layer of clear painting covered
with a varnish for wood (I made a door like that); use wax if necessary. Also thinkat the
small pots of painting for models (model making) the choice is large and there are very
shining paintings. It will be less expensive and less cumbersome
afterwards. Use also the felts color wood, the wax sticks
(varnished department) ; one generally finds them oak clear, average
and dark style).
Even tiles partielly scratched or broken (wall, ground) can be given a better loking (refilling, colours) ; I made it for glass tiles ,
you can see now what was iritating every day !
another example.
This piece is broken. It is almost impossible to make the breaking
disappear away if small pieces are chipped or if
both parties have undergone a deformation. To reduce the crack that was
too apparent once the two parts bound, I strongly rubbed the cracks
to fill in them
with a colored wax stick (or pencil), varying according to the hue (here
yellow and green light and dark).
After that,
I poured a few drops of cyano glue to fix the
whole. Cut what overflowed
(scraper, razor blade, scotch brite ..).
Without filling with a coloured stick, it would be better to fill the
cracks with glue, varnish, varnish glue, acrylic satin or gloss paint
art (thickener, lacquers). All these products can be colored too. Click ! to see the result, not perfect, but much better
compared to what it was.

Jagged or sharp edges.
Dishes and porcelain, earthenware, glass. It is perfectly possible to reduce
significantly or even totally, small breaks in these materials, deemed
hard ! Here is a cons-spout teapot that was badly chipped (you can still see small
imperfections). After a good quarter of an hour sanding wiyh a
sharpening stone, he's again become quite presentable. A final round to
finish the inside edge slightly serrated (click!) And it's over. The
sharpening stone that I used here is a fragment of sharpening disc for
chainsaw. I show it for the color so ir can be recognized in stores DIY.
But you can use a more common stone for sharpening tools and knives,
not too fine grained to start, like these oblong brown
stones oblonguesoblong light brown stones. A
fine stone would be useful on the glass to finish for get him recover
some of its transparency.
Wooden garden chair
legs .
Exposure to the sun or rain have their drawbacks, but they are
known. But the simple wood contact with the earth - grass included -
guarantee an attack more or less rapid depending on the wood ground
(rock or soil), humidity, etc..
I have replaced the
rotten tip by of the rear legs by
another piece of beech cut. A wooden plug connects internally both sides for
better strength (it's more secure but not mandatory). Usage of "Araldite"
glue
(slow). A friend of mine - nearly 100 kg -
has successfully tested it.
This hand made pot Provençal worth a restoration.
Already glued several times, the last intervention required a more serious repair, with a paste made of crushed pieces of pottery mixed with
vitrifying varnish for wooden floor (one component only).
I stick now my pottery with this vittrifying varnish floor! alterations could be made to hide the difference in color.
And we appreciate it anyway: when you love ..
